What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is an advanced treatment that provides effective solutions for a wide range of medical and aesthetic/cosmetic concerns. What sets PRP apart is its natural approach, harnessing the power of the patient's own blood plasma, which is enriched with numerous growth factors essential for promoting healing and regeneration in the human body.

At NZGS, we proudly offer Vampire Facials, a specialised PRP procedure performed in our Gisborne clinic.

The PRP Facial treatment involves the following steps:

  1. Application of numbing anaesthetic cream to the face and neck.

  2. Drawing the patient's blood and placing it into the PRP tube for centrifugation.

  3. Removing the numbing cream from the face and neck while the PRP is being processed.

  4. Transferring the produced PRP to a syringe and commencing the treatment using a microneedling pen for optimal results.

  5. Inoculating the skin with the PRP using the microneedling pen.

  6. The skin microneedling process typically lasts around 20-30 minutes, depending on the individual's skin biology.

The PRP Facial offers a range of notable benefits, including:

  • Rejuvenating tired and dry skin, addressing skin laxity, and promoting improved skin texture and even pigmentation.

  • Reducing the appearance of wrinkles and dark circles, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed look.

  • Overall enhancement of skin texture and tone, providing a smoother and more balanced complexion.

  • Ideal for individuals with a history of allergic reactions to other treatments, ensuring a safe and well-tolerated option.

  • Effective treatment for individuals with acne scarring, aiding in scar reduction and skin revitalisation.

  • A preferred choice for those seeking a natural and non-synthetic treatment approach to achieve their skin goals.

  • Stimulates the production of an increased number of collagen fibres, promoting firmer and more resilient skin.

  • Enhances skin texture and tone improvement, resulting in a smoother and more refined surface.

  • Improves skin elasticity, contributing to a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.
